This Privacy Policy explains how Satsun (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use TalentUp Class10 Math, the Android app on Google Play, the iPhone app on the Apple App Store and the website at class10math.satsuntech.in, and any other TalentUp application that links to this policy. Satsun is the Data Fiduciary for this information under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”).
The short version
- A parent or guardian signs in and manages the account. The Class 10 student uses it to learn.
- We collect what the app needs to work: sign-in details, a short parent profile, learning progress, and answer papers you choose to upload.
- Some features send information to trusted service providers, such as Google Firebase, OpenAI, Anthropic and Meta’s WhatsApp service. They receive it only so that they can provide those features.
- We do not show ads, do not sell personal data and do not track children for advertising.
- Weekly WhatsApp updates are off unless a parent switches them on.
- You can delete the account and its data from inside the app at any time.
1. Who we are
TalentUp Applications are developed and operated by Satsun, a sole proprietorship based in Chennai, India. Our contact details are in section 18.
2. Children and parental consent
TalentUp Class10 Math is made for Class 10 students, who are usually 14–16 years old. Under the DPDP Act, anyone under 18 is a child, so a parent or guardian must be involved:
- The account should be created and signed in to by the parent or legal guardian, using the parent’s Google account, Apple Account or mobile number. The parent then enters the student’s name in the parent profile.
- By creating the account and completing the parent profile, the parent or guardian consents to our processing of the child’s information as this policy describes.
- If you are a student under 18, please ask your parent or guardian to set up the account for you.
- We do not knowingly process a child’s information without a parent’s consent. If you think a child is using TalentUp without that consent, contact us and we will delete the account.
- We do not track children’s behaviour for advertising or show them targeted ads. We do not use their information in ways likely to harm their well-being.
- A parent can withdraw consent at any time by deleting the account (section 12) or by contacting us.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Sign-in and account
- We use Firebase Authentication for sign-in with Google, with Apple (on iPhone) or with a mobile number and one-time password (OTP).
- We receive a unique user ID. With Google sign-in we also receive the account’s email address and name. With Sign in with Apple we receive the email address you choose to share, which may be a private relay address from Apple’s Hide My Email, and your name if you choose to share it. With OTP sign-in we receive the mobile number used.
- We also create a randomly generated device-session identifier with timestamps. We use it to show a notice when the account is signed in on another device.
3.2 Parent profile
- The student’s name. We use the first name in reports and messages.
- The parent’s email address.
- The parent’s WhatsApp number. This is optional and needed only if weekly WhatsApp updates are switched on.
- Your “Weekly updates on WhatsApp” choice. It is off by default.
3.3 Learning activity and progress
- Lessons and topics studied, plus Visual Learn, Mind Map and Mastery Map progress.
- Practice and test questions, the answers entered, and the marks and feedback given.
- Mistake Book entries, study plans and mastery evidence.
- Questions asked to the Ask AI tutor, and the replies.
- Weekly progress summaries, which are numbers such as active days, lessons, questions answered, accuracy and test percentages and topic names, as well as weekly parent reports.
- Learning preferences such as explanation depth, teacher voice and speaking speed.
- Free-use and usage records, such as the dates on which a feature was used and usage limits.
3.4 Answer papers you upload (Beta)
If you choose to have a handwritten answer paper marked, you select photos or PDF pages of the answers. These pages are sent to our AI marking service together with the related questions and marking scheme. We save the extracted answers, marks and feedback to the account. Our servers do not keep the page images after marking is finished.
Please upload only the answer pages. Avoid including anything else, such as addresses, phone numbers or pictures of people.
3.5 Voice features
- Teacher voice (text-to-speech): to read lessons aloud, we send the lesson text to a text-to-speech service. This is curriculum text, not your personal information. The audio it produces may be cached on the device and on our servers so that it can be reused.
- Voice typing: you can tap the microphone to speak a question or an answer instead of typing it. The app first asks for microphone permission. Your speech is turned into text by your device’s or browser’s speech-recognition service, such as Google’s speech service on Android or Apple’s speech recognition on iPhone. The app uses only the text that comes back. We do not record or store audio of your voice.
3.6 Subscriptions and payments
- Android: payments are processed by Google Play.
- iPhone: payments are processed by Apple through the App Store.
- For both, RevenueCat manages the subscription for us and receives purchase information, such as the product, the purchase and expiry dates and store transaction identifiers, linked to your TalentUp user ID.
- Website: payments will be processed by Razorpay when website payments become available.
- We store only the subscription status and related details: the store, product, expiry and last subscription event. We never receive or store card, UPI or bank-account details.
3.7 Technical, security and crash information
- Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports. A crash report contains the error details, device model, operating-system and app versions, a Crashlytics installation identifier and the device’s state at the time of the crash, such as free memory.
- Firebase App Check, which uses Google Play Integrity on Android and Apple App Attest and DeviceCheck on iPhone, checks that requests come from the genuine app on a genuine device. To do this it uses device-integrity signals and security tokens.
- On iPhone, Firebase Authentication may send a silent Apple push notification to the app to confirm that a mobile-number sign-in request comes from the genuine app.
- Our service providers may automatically record technical data in their service logs, such as IP address, device and network information and timestamps. Our own server logs are designed not to contain phone numbers, names or answer text.
3.8 What we do not collect
We do not collect your location, contacts, SMS or call logs, calendar, health information, date of birth, home address or government ID numbers. We do not collect payment-card, UPI or bank-account details, advertising identifiers or recordings of your voice. The app contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- create, sign in to and secure the account, and show which device is active;
- provide lessons, the AI tutor, practice, tests, answer-paper marking, study plans, the Mistake Book and the Mastery Map;
- save progress and keep it in sync across your devices;
- prepare weekly parent reports and, if switched on, send weekly WhatsApp updates;
- manage free uses and subscriptions;
- protect the service against misuse, fraud and abuse, for example with App Check and usage limits;
- fix crashes and improve reliability;
- answer support requests and meet our legal obligations.
We do not use personal information for advertising or marketing, and we do not sell it.
5. Artificial intelligence (AI) features
- Ask AI tutor and lesson explanations: your question and the lesson context are sent to OpenAI and/or Anthropic to produce an answer.
- Answer-paper marking (Beta): the pages you upload are sent to Anthropic (Claude) for marking. If Claude is unavailable, OpenAI (GPT-4o) is used instead. AI marks may differ from a teacher’s marks, so please check important results with a teacher.
- Weekly parent report: the report text is written by Anthropic’s Claude from numbers-only statistics and topic names. The child’s name is not sent to the AI. The app adds the name on your device.
- Under these providers’ standard API terms, information sent through their APIs is not used to train their AI models. They may keep it for a limited time for abuse and safety monitoring, as their own terms allow.
- AI can make mistakes. TalentUp is a learning aid and does not replace teachers. It cannot guarantee any exam result.
6. Weekly parent reports and WhatsApp updates
In-app parent report. You can open the weekly report in the app and share it by WhatsApp or email. Sharing opens your own WhatsApp or email app with the report filled in, and you decide whether to send it. We do not read your messages or contacts.
Automatic weekly WhatsApp updates are optional and off by default. They start only after the parent switches on “Weekly updates on WhatsApp” in Profile and enters a WhatsApp number. We then send one short progress message each Sunday through Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API). The message contains:
- the child’s first name (or “your child”);
- the dates of the week;
- activity counts, such as active days, lessons, questions answered and mistakes fixed;
- accuracy and test percentages, where available;
- the names of chapters to focus on.
It does not contain the child’s individual answers or uploaded answer papers. Meta receives the parent’s WhatsApp number and the message content only so that it can deliver the message for us. We do not use the number for marketing.
To stop the updates at any time, reply STOP, tap “Stop updates” in WhatsApp, or switch the setting off in Profile. To turn them back on, reply START or switch the setting on in Profile.
If you stop the updates through WhatsApp, we keep an opt-out record so that we can respect your choice. This record uses a one-way hash of the number, not the number itself. It is kept even after the account is deleted, so that we do not message that number again.
7. Service providers we use

These providers process information under their own terms, privacy policies and security safeguards. They are allowed to use it only to provide their services.
9. Where your information is stored
Your account and learning data are stored on Google Cloud through Firebase. Our server functions run in the United States (us-central1), and our voice service runs in Singapore. Our AI and other service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. These transfers are allowed under the DPDP Act unless the Government of India restricts transfers to a particular country.
10. How we protect information
- All information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Google Cloud also encrypts stored data by default.
- Database security rules let each account read only its own records. Subscription, free-use and usage records can be changed only by our servers.
- App Check helps block requests that do not come from the genuine app.
- API keys are kept on our servers, and our logs are designed not to contain phone numbers, names or answer text.
No online service can be 100% secure. If a personal data breach happens, we will inform affected users and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
11. How long we keep information
- Account and learning data: kept while the account exists and deleted when you delete the account.
- Answer-paper images: not kept on our servers after marking. Only the answers, marks and feedback are saved.
- Crash reports: kept by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days.
- WhatsApp opt-out record: the hashed record described in section 6, kept so that we can respect the opt-out.
- Purchase records: Google Play, Apple, RevenueCat and Razorpay keep transaction records under their own terms and tax laws.
- Shared lesson cache: some standard AI lesson explanations are stored without any link to an account and reused for all students.
- We may keep limited information for longer if the law requires it, or to resolve a dispute or prevent fraud.
12. How to delete your TalentUp account and data
In the app (Android, iPhone or web): open Profile → Delete account and confirm. You may be asked to sign in again first. If you signed in with Apple, you will also be asked to confirm with Apple, so that TalentUp’s access to your Apple Account is revoked.
This deletes: your sign-in account; the parent profile, including the WhatsApp number and setting; learning sessions; practice and test answers and marks; Mistake Book entries; study plans; mastery data; weekly statistics and parent reports; WhatsApp send history; free-use, subscription-status and usage records; and device-session records. Deletion starts as soon as you confirm.
This is not deleted: the hashed WhatsApp opt-out record (section 6); purchase records held by Google Play, Apple, RevenueCat or Razorpay; crash reports until they expire (up to 90 days); and anything we must keep by law.
Subscriptions: deleting the account does not cancel a Google Play subscription. To cancel, open the Play Store app and go to Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Deleting the account also does not cancel an App Store subscription. To cancel on iPhone, open the Settings app, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions.
By email: if you cannot use the app, email support@satsuntech.com with the subject “Delete my TalentUp account”. Send it from the email address on the account, or include the mobile number used to sign in. We will verify the request, delete the account and confirm by email.
Deleting only some data: to delete particular data without deleting the account, email us and say what you want removed.
Uninstalling the app does not delete your account or data.
13. Your rights and choices
Under the DPDP Act, you (or the parent or guardian, for a child) can:
- Access: ask for a summary of the personal data we hold and the providers we share it with.
- Correct and update: edit the parent profile in the app at any time, or ask us to correct something.
- Erase: delete the account (section 12) or ask us to delete particular data.
- Withdraw consent: switch off WhatsApp updates, or delete the account. This does not affect processing that happened before you withdrew consent.
- Nominate: name another person to use these rights for you if you die or become unable to act.
- Complain: contact our Grievance Officer (section 18). If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will reply within the time the law requires.
14. App permissions
- Internet: needed to sign in, save progress and use AI and voice features.
- Microphone (and Speech Recognition on iPhone): used only for voice typing, and only when you tap the microphone.
- Camera and photos: when you add answer pages, the app uses your phone’s camera or photo picker. It receives only the pictures you take or choose.
If you refuse a permission, only the feature that needs it stops working.
15. Website and browser storage
The website stores your sign-in status and app settings in your browser’s local storage. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
16. Using TalentUp responsibly
Please do not upload or send content that is unlawful, abusive or obscene, that contains another person’s personal information without permission, or that breaks the law or someone else’s rights. The app may stop a session when abusive language is detected, and we may suspend accounts for serious or repeated misuse.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our app, providers or the law change. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top. For important changes, we will also tell you in the app or by email before the changes take effect.
